AutoFill Basics
AutoFill is the core of AnyForm: point it at any form and it fills the fields using your active profile — no per-site templates or setup required.
1. Land on a page with a form
When AnyForm spots a form with three or more fields on the page, a small "✨ AutoFill Form — Form detected" badge appears in the bottom-right corner automatically, as long as Auto Detection is turned on.
2. Open your profiles
Click the badge to open the side panel, or click the AnyForm icon in your toolbar. Either way, you'll see your list of profiles with one marked as active.
3. Click AutoFill
With the right profile active, click AutoFill. AnyForm reads the form on the page — labels, placeholders, and layout — and fills in each field it can match from your profile.
4. Add additional instructions (optional)
Need a one-off adjustment without editing your saved profile? Use the Add additional instructions box before filling — for example, "Fill the flight number field with SE 604." AnyForm applies your instruction alongside your profile data for that fill.
5. Check the results
After filling, a small summary card appears in the top-right corner for a few seconds, showing how many fields were processed, how many were completed, and how many need your manual attention.
6. Turn Auto Detection on or off
Don't want the badge popping up on every page? Open the profile popover in the header and switch Auto Detection off. You can still open AnyForm manually and fill forms — you just won't see the on-page prompt.
Additional instructions are great for small, situational tweaks — a specific format, a field your profile doesn't normally cover — without cluttering your saved profile with one-time details.
The badge never shows up. Check that Auto Detection is switched on in the header popover, that the form has at least three visible fields, and that the site isn't on a restricted-domains list set by your organization.
Some fields say "Manual Entries Required." A few field types — like file uploads or CAPTCHAs — can't be filled automatically and always need your input.
AutoFill picked the wrong profile. Double-check which profile is marked active before clicking AutoFill — AnyForm always fills using the currently active one.
